​​​Do I need to be present during the inspection?

No, your presence is not required. You are welcome to attend if you wish, but you must inform the real estate agent if you plan to be on site. Most clients prefer to receive the report afterwards. We provide a full written report with photos so you can review everything clearly.

How long does a building inspection take?

Most residential property inspections take approximately 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the size and condition of the property.

When will I receive my inspection report?

You will receive your detailed inspection report within 24–48 hours after the inspection is completed.

What does the building inspection include?

Our inspection covers all major accessible areas including roofing, cladding, foundations, subfloor, interior condition, plumbing, visible electrical systems, ventilation, and moisture levels.

Are your inspections independent?

Yes, we are fully independent and do not work for real estate agents or vendors. Our reports are unbiased and based only on the property’s condition.

What standards do you follow?

All inspections are carried out in accordance with NZS 4306:2005 Property Inspection Standards.

Do you inspect commercial properties as well?

Yes, we provide both residential and commercial building inspections across Wellington, Kapiti, Wairarapa, and Levin.

What if issues are found in the property?

If defects or issues are found, they are clearly explained in the report with photos and recommendations so you can make an informed decision before purchasing.

Can I raise specific concerns before the inspection?

Yes. If you have any particular concerns about the property, we recommend informing the inspector before the inspection so these areas can be given special attention during the assessment.

Can I discuss the report after it is completed?

Yes. Once you receive your report, you are welcome to contact us to discuss any findings. We are happy to clarify issues and explain recommendations, so you fully understand the property condition.

What happens if I am buying an older property?

Older properties often have more wear and maintenance issues. Our inspection will identify common risks such as moisture,  and areas requiring future maintenance so you can make an informed decision.

Can you inspect during wet weather?

Yes, inspections are carried out in most weather conditions. In fact, light rain can sometimes help identify leaks or drainage issues. However, extreme weather conditions may require rescheduling for safety reasons.

Can the report be used for negotiation?

Yes. Many clients use our reports to negotiate price, request repairs, or make informed decisions before purchasing the property.

Do you provide urgent or same-day inspections?

Yes, subject to availability. Please contact us as early as possible if you require an urgent inspection.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer as the payment method. Payment details are provided with your invoice.

Are your inspectors qualified and insured?

Yes, all inspections are carried out by qualified professionals, and we carry full professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

We’ll contact you to confirm availability and provide a quote.

Step 3: Accept the Quote

Once accepted, we’ll arrange access with the property agent and complete the inspection.
